1. Insert the hook into the next stitch.
2. Yarn over. Pull the yarn through the loops. Now you have 2 loops on the hook.
3. Now yarn over the NEW COLOR and pull it through the last two loops on the hook.
4. With this you finish the single crochet stitch and have successfully made a color change.

2. Make sure the “right side” of the piece is facing you. Insert the eye between two stitches.
3. Make 1 Chain Stitch
Knowing how to make a slip knot is a basic technique for many yarn arts, including both crochet and knitting. When learning how to slip knot crochet, it is the best way to start off your crochet work to get that original loop securely onto your hook.
1. Now lay the end of the thread OVER the other thread and hold the end of the thread with one finger.
2. With the thumb and forefinger of the right hand grasp the thread that runs under the end of the thread.
3. Pull this grasped thread through the loop that has formed around your index finger and thumb and pull the loop until a knot is formed. You should now have a loop that ends in a knot.
4. You should now have a loop that ends in a knot.
5. Place your crochet hook in the loop and pull it closed by pulling on both threads after the knot. The loop should tighten around the crochet hook. Pull on both threads until the loop is close around the crochet hook.
6. Done is the slip knot. As you will notice the loop is movable and can be moved freely up and down over the crochet hook.
The crochet magic ring is also sometimes called a crochet magic circle, a slip ring, and adjustable ring or a magic loop. If your pattern tells you to start with any of those, just follow these directions!
1. Make a loop at about 10 cm from the end of the yarn so that the shorter yarn tail runs underneath the longer one.
2. Insert the crochet hook through the loop, from front to back. Grab the longer yarn tail and bring back through the loop.
5. Make 1 Chain Stitch.
